19 Months Already

I'm in the middle of going through the ka-zillion photos I took at my shoot last weekend and I need to take a break before I go cross-eyed..  Brand new baby only 10 days old and super cute.  Check out the preview if you haven't seen it.  I can't believe SB was this tiny just 19 months ago.  Now she is a real person.  With thoughts and feelings and likes and dislikes.  It is the coolest thing watching her little personality develop.  She thinks herself quite the comedian.  She does stuff just to make us (and herself) laugh.  Like put a blanket over her head.  Or my head.  Or run the hallway naked screaming at the top of her lungs before bathtime.  Or "sneak" up on Mommy from behind and grab her ponytail.  She loves having bows in her hair.  I mean, she will go find a bow and bring it to me gesturing to put it in her hair.  Girly Girl.  She has a little purse and carries it around half the day on her arm like a little old lady.  She is a hoarder.  She loves stuff.  Doesn't matter if it's toys, books, balls, rocks, sticks, or cigarette butts...she'll find and collect it.  In music class when it's time to play instruments, she'll grab every maraca and tambourine she can get her little fists on.  She won't necessarily use them, but she loves to have them.  Fortunately, her second favorite hobby is putting stuff away.  She likes to put everything back in it's bin or box.  Very helpful, she is.

We had special visitors at swim class yesterday.  Daddy and Grandma both came to watch our little otter splash around.  She was such a showoff.  She got all excited as soon as we drove in the parking lot.  By the time we reached the pool she could not contain herself and squealed with joy.  I guess she likes swim class now.  She's already putting her head under and hasn't coughed up water at all.  I'm such a proud mama.  Her fan club was very impressed too.
So there's a mommy I've got my eye on.  Her daughter is in swim class with us and she's the same age as SB.  She's a fabulous little swimmer and she already says lots of words.  I think she'd be a good influence on SB.  It's important, you know, to get her in with the right crowd from the start.  It would be nice to have a mommy friend to hang out with too.  Anyway, I'm thinking of asking her if she wants to have a playdate sometime but I don't want it to be awkward.  What if she's not interested and then we still have to swim together every week.  Maybe I should pass her a note after class that says "Do you like us?  Check YES or NO" and then she can just let us down easy if she doesn't want to hang out.  I haven't felt this socially inept since high school.

Here are a few pics of my girl in her sassy red coat that the NOLA Fagans sent for Christmas.  She knows how to work it, doesn't she?

oh my goodness. girls get to dress so much cuter than boys. i am so jealous! as i was leaving work today i saw some girl with "juicy" or some equally stupid word written on the butt of her yoga pants and i said out loud to only myself, SB will never wear words on her butt, not on my watch!

the mom in swimming class will love you guys! approach her. if she doesn't there's something terribly wrong with her, and you should know immediately if you are swimming with a total weirdo!
