Rolling into week 2 of my SAHM lifestyle.
That’s Stay At Home Mommy for those who aren’t familiar with the acronym. I recently learned that one. Thank God I have some new acronyms to take the place of the gazillion ones used at the bank. I swear some of those meetings I used to attend sounded more like a spelling bee than a merger discussion. But those days are behind me now. On to more important things like Elmo and peek-a-boo and Yo Gabba Gabba. I still, however, can’t shake the dreaded feeling of impending doom that I will be returning to work shortly. I am consciously aware that I quit and someone else has likely taken over my cubicle (or at least pilfered my supplies) by now. But deep in my subconscious mind I have that gotta-go-to-work instinct that won't die. Sunday night was the usual sleepless Monday Eve that I faced while in the working world. Maybe it’s sympathy pains for Kurt. I don’t know, but I hope I get over it soon.
I spent some time practicing my photog skills with poor SB today. When she grows up she is either going to be a supermodel or hide every time she sees a camera. Here are a few of the keepers.
Can you tell she's getting annoyed with me in that last one? Despite having to put up with the mamarazzi, I think baby is enjoying having me at home. We had fun adventures at the grocery store. She was the most popular girl there. As we waited by the deli counter some goofy older guy tried to make her laugh. She sat there stoically staring at him as if to say, you do not amuse me, Mr. Funny Man, go away. Not 3 minutes later, the bakery man gave it a go to no avail. The young lady was not interested. As we rounded the corner to the baby food aisle, I said to her, well get used to it girly, you're in for a lifetime of silly men throwing themselves at you to get your attention!
